Hi Jini and Ian (who???)

Well I thought it was only me that thought that way!!! :) have to say the only advice I ever give anyone is dont take advice so they cant blame me later--so big ups for courage jini :)

110% agree that babies dont glue a relationship together but rather test it to the full, especially when you get older and are set in your ways :)

whilst I do agree a bit with Susan, I would differ on one point--maybe it is the nature of our kids that defines it..... I agree that caring for kids fulltime is different to `sitting' (though am not hung up on blood ties), but i tend to find that mine are totally endearing to other people and totally relentless with us--hey ho--thank the lord for unconditional love eh :)

And whilst I concur with you Jini, that children come into your life and turn it upside down teaching you the meaning of the word `selfless' I find it tough to conceive of parents who would state they wish their little darlings had never been.

Kids and a full time nanny is probably the ideal :) those Victorians (and A+V) certainly had the right idea :)

Hi jini!!

You are so right but i want to add a comment: i think that being with other people's children and being with your own is different , the reality of how much work is involved is true but the difference is in the level of intense unconditional love you have for your own kids, it an be blinding....with your own often you think a behaviour is endearing while others think it's annoying! Also raising your baby and watching it grow and learn and change creates a super bond and intense protective hormones etc. that you do not feel just haning out with other children, even if they are relatives and you do love them it is very different if they are your own!
I hope your friend chooses to have a baby, it is the most amazing role of your life!
love Susan
